Daffodil Day

On 25 August 2006, Vero staff across Australia sold merchandise on Daffodil Day. Staff in Adelaide, Hobart and The Metcentre sold mini-soccer balls and hacky sacks, pins, pens, teddy bears and of course daffodils in their offices. In Hobart, staff sold $250 worth of merchandise between 12 people!

32 Vero staff in the other States sold merchandise off site. In Brisbane, volunteers had a visit from the Nova Meter Maids and sold merchandise to cars stopped at traffic lights. In Melbourne, Vero staff teamed up with volunteers from Asteron.

More than $9,500 was raised on the day from sales. Thank you to the Senior Verogive Coordinators and all staff who gave up their time to raise funds for cancer research.

Australia's Biggest Morning Tea

Vero staff raised $2,134.45 for the Cancer Council in May 2006, by hosting "Australia's Biggest Morning Tea" in offices around Australia.

In NSW more than 13,000 hosts and an estimated 400,000 guests across corporate Australia joined in for morning tea to raise money for cancer research and support services that will benefit cancer patients, families and carers.

At Vero, cake bake-offs were popular, with many offices battling it out for the honour of the best bakery treat. A huge range of cakes, savoury treats and sweets were available to try on the day, by making a gold coin donation for the Cancer Council. The Hobart office invited the whole building to their morning tea and the men were asked to bring the baked goods on the day!

The Cancer Council would like to thank Vero's bakers and participants for making this year's "Australia's Biggest Morning Tea" event a huge success.
