SME Insurance Index 2012

Welcome to the Vero SME Insurance Index 2012: key insights every informed broker should know.
Comprising around 99%* of all businesses, SMEs are undoubtedly the most significant segment of the Australian business landscape. This combined with a turbulent external environment, spurred Vero to commission the SME Insurance Index 2012.
The first of its kind in the insurance industry, the Vero SME Insurance Index 2012 is the product of a set of research undertaken to understand the attitudes and behaviours of small to medium enterprises with regard to insurance. The research included in-depth interviews with industry experts and SMEs, as well as a national survey of 600 SME insurance decision makers.
The result is a wealth of information about how businesses with less than 200 employees view business in general, the insurance industry and more importantly, how they will act in the future. Vero believes a deeper understanding of the SME market will help the industry meet the changing needs of this important segment.
