Sydney, 3 June 2010: Vero would like to assure its current home warranty insurance policyholders and builders that the transition to the NSW Home Warranty Insurance Scheme will be as smooth as possible.
The new Scheme will commence on 1 July 2010 and will be administered by the NSW Self Insurance Corporation (SiCorp).
SiCorp has appointed insurance agents to undertake functions on its behalf including eligibility assessment, issue of policies and claims handling. Vero will not be acting as an insurance agent for SiCorp.
Information for NSW builders
To enable a smooth transition, for builders with current Vero eligibility, Vero will continue to issue new insurance project certificates until 30 September 2010. From 1 July to 30 September, brokers will work with builders to progressively move their eligibilities to one of the SiCorp insurance agents.
Builders requiring further information should speak to their broker, or can contact Vero on 1800 772 729.
Information for homeowners
Homeowners can rest assured that all current Vero home warranty insurance policies will remain valid for the relevant term. Vero’s claims team will continue to process any valid claims received on all certificates issued.
To lodge a Vero home warranty insurance claim, fill out a claim form or call 1800 554 255.
