Vero to cease providing home warranty insurance

Sydney, 5 February 2010: Vero Insurance Limited (Vero) has undertaken a review of its position as a national provider of home warranty insurance.

Vero has held discussions with various State Governments, considered all alternatives and options, and has come to the conclusion that it has no choice but to withdraw from the national home warranty market. Vero has expressed interest to the NSW government in being a participant in the NSW Scheme as an administrator/claims manager.

Vero’s last day for issuing home warranty insurance policies will be 30 June 2010.

Consumers can rest assured that all current Vero home warranty insurance policies will remain valid for the relevant term. Vero’s claims team will continue to process any valid claims received on all certificates issued up to and including 30 June 2010.

Vero is working collaboratively with relevant governments and all stakeholders to ensure a smooth and timely transition out of the builder’s warranty insurance market.
