Vero Expo draws record crowds in Sydney and Melbourne

Sydney, 2 March 2010: Record numbers of insurance brokers showed their enthusiasm and support for Vero Expo when it returned to Sydney and Melbourne in February.

Around 700 insurance brokers and industry professionals attended the two events, which included CPD-accredited seminars and an exhibition area showcasing Vero’s enhanced suite of products and services.

Andrew Mair, Executive General Manager Intermediated Distribution, said it was encouraging to see so many brokers attending the workshops and meeting key members of the Vero team.

“Feedback from brokers was outstanding and it’s clear by the growing number of attendees that they see this as a worthwhile, informative and enjoyable event,” Mr Mair said.

“We’re always looking for ways to meet and exceed our brokers’ expectations and we’re committed to enhancing the professionalism and expertise of the industry. At Vero Expo, brokers can earn CPD points for the workshops they attend throughout the day, hearing from experts on the key topics and issues of the insurance industry.”

The accredited workshops held included sessions on claims management, business succession planning and the global economy.

A central point of discussion at this year’s Expo was Vero’s enhanced online capabilities and the development of time-saving technology for brokers.

“We’re all about making it easier for brokers to do business with us. We’re investing in technology to save our brokers time and help them deliver exceptional service to their clients,” Mr Mair said.

“We have refreshed and relaunched the Vero website to create a single location for everything our brokers and customers need to know about Vero. The website also contains a link to ‘VeroCentral’ – our secure web portal that houses our online applications for brokers.

“We also used the opportunity to demonstrate and seek feedback on some new online tools that we’re about to launch to brokers. ‘Claims Online’ will give brokers greater visibility of their customers’ claims, and ‘Equipment Breakdown’ allows brokers to get quotes and apply for equipment breakdown cover quickly and easily using our online system.”

Vero Expo has now been showcased in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane over the past 18 months, and is becoming a highlight on the insurance industry calendar.

“We’re giving our brokers the products, services and expertise they need to excel in the industry,” Mr Mair said.

“Vero Expo continues to be a great success and we are certainly planning on keeping the momentum going with more broker expos and events in the future.”
